Connor Furneaux

This will be Connor’s first summer at Canoe North Adventures and he is very excited to be in the Northwest Territories! Connor is originally from Toronto and has recently been bouncing around working as an Outdoor Educator at different camps around southern Ontario. Since a young age he loved the outdoors and he started going to summer camp at the age of 9 where he was introduced to canoe tripping. Since then he has been on trips all across Southern Ontario and Southern Québec. Most recently he guided a 23-day trip down the Missinaibi River in Northern Ontario.

Connor is an avid photographer; he has been all across the world from Iceland to Australia taking photos. You can often find him trying to capture the beauty of landscapes through his camera.

Connor is a recent graduate of the Outdoor Adventure Program at Algonquin College. Through the College he was able to go on some amazing trips. His favorite trip was a 9-day fat biking expedition. He is very excited to share all his stories with you all this summer!

Canoe North Adventure on the Winter Road!

A brand new Canoe North Adventures truck pulling a trailer loaded with nine canoes and lots of gear set out from our Hockley Valley winter base on Saturday, headed for Edmonton.  The truck is being driven by our good friend and adventurer Roger Kehoe.  Later this week Al will fly to Edmonton with his friend Gord Burke and the two of them will continue up to Yellowknife then on to the winter road to Norman Wells.  Hopefully they will send us some photos of their adventure to pass along!

Shauna Kearns – Our Baking Guide!

Paddlers on one of our Keele River trips last year will definitely remember Shauna Kearns!  Shauna baked bread over an open fire every day while out on the river… sourdough bread, hamburger buns, pizza dough and more.  Shauna is working on her PHD and you can learn more about her project by following the link:
