I recently travelled as the host for our group from Canoe North Adventures on the Scotland, Faroes Islands and Iceland: North Atlantic Saga expedition with Adventure Canada from June 23 to July 3, beginning in Aberdeen, Scotland and finishing in Reykjavik, Iceland. It was my third time on an Adventure Canada small-vessel cruise on the soon-to-be-retired Ocean Endeavour, and each trip has been totally amazing and unique. The highlight of this trip was our time spent in the Faroe Islands, a country in the middle of the North Sea depending on sheep-farming, fishing and tourism for their livelihood. We stopped at the towns of Vagur, Torshavn, Elduvik and Vestmannan with plenty of time to explore the towns and and to soak up the raw beauty of the countryside including a visit to a sheep farm, a trip around a roundabout under the sea and a boat trip past towering cliffs and mysterious caves! The scenery was stunning and the sea birds were plentiful including the iconic puffin along with gannets, kittiwakes and Northern fulmars.
Travelling with Adventure Canada feels very much like travelling with family as the Expedition Team are always very accessible and anxious to make sure everyone gets exactly what they want out of the trip. The ship’s crew and staff are super friendly and of course the food is amazing!
There are several versions of this trip being offered in 2026 on Adventure Canada’s two new smaller ships, the Ocean Nova and the Exploris One. You can learn more Here.
