Maegan grew up on Lake Temagami, where her love for canoeing started early, and has carried her across the waterways of northern Ontario and Quebec, travelling deep into remote landscapes that continue to inspire her sense of adventure. She later headed west to British Columbia, completing a degree in Adventure Tourism and spent countless days on rivers and in mountains. Drawn north by big rivers and bigger horizons, Maegan found her way to the Northwest Territories, and will spend her 5th season with Canoe North Adventures this summer.
Now a teacher, she brings her passion for outdoor exploration and hands-on learning into her work, connecting people to the natural world around them. When she’s not on the water, you’ll find Maegan chasing winter on skis, riding mountain bike trails and painting the birds she spots. Ask her about her list of birds she’s seen in the North!
