Paddle boarding is a healing factor in Laurie’s life.  She believes paddling and getting outside in nature is great for the body, soul and spirit.  Her focus is on fun adventure learning in a safe respectful way.  Her 2 dogs, Dawson and Safari, have enjoyed many hours with her on Lake of Bays learning to SUP and this has created an even stronger bond with them.  She thrives on shoulder season paddling…from spring ice out to late fall ice in.

As Founding “Board” Member of her business “Safari & Company”, she was inspired by the Swahili meaning “to journey” and the close bond she shares with her loyal best friend, Safari, as they paddleboard together on Lake of Bays in Muskoka, Ontario.  She offers classes from learn to paddle board with your pup to extreme paddling for fitness in shoulder seasons.

My life as a teacher & paddler has been to teach people to experience the healing properties of water –  enjoying the stupendous colours of the water, the feel of water moving on the body, how the paddle and canoe or board respond becoming one with water.  The past 2 years have been a soul searching venture toward what inspires and excites me.  More of us are seeking nature, outdoor experiences and healing.  I have found my passion and look forward to sharing paddling with you.”
