Rachel was born and raised in Yellowknife, NWT and is of Cree ancestry. She is a Paddle Canada certified Lake Canoe Instructor Trainer and Sea Kayak Level 1 Skills Instructor. Rachel has been teaching and guiding across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut since 2013. Activities have included paddling, wilderness survival, traditional games, motor boat safety and igloo building. In 2016, she guided a 7-day canoe trip on the picturesque North Arm of Great Slave Lake. Rachel is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce Degree at the University of Victoria to further understand the business side of outdoor adventure operations. She recently took a month break to explore some international landscapes in Iceland, Scotland, and Ireland. Rachel’s passion is empowering people through on the land and cultural experiences while teaching safety and respect for the land. In her free time you can find Rachel skijoring with her pups, paddling with friends, curled up with a book, or taking photos.
