Cedar’s introduction to adventure started early when, at 9 weeks old, his parents took him on his first canoe trip, tucked into the bow, at his mother’s feet. The passion for exploration grew and after high school Cedar attended Algonquin Colleges Outdoor Adventure program. With his newly acquired skills, he spent the next 6 summers guiding multi-week canoe trips in Canada’s north (N.W.T and Yukon) with Canoe North Adventures.
He has completed 50km and 100km ultra marathons in different regions of British Columbia as the drive to push harder and farther continues to grow. Spring of 2017 saw him undertake a 1 month solo crossing of the Kazakh/Uzbek steppe by bicycle, then he and his partner, Courtney Terriah, spent an additional 2 months cycling the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan, also crossing Kyrgyzstan.
Cedar is the owner/operator of Tall Tree Designs, a carpentry business, specializing in timber frame and log building, specifically in remote areas of Canada’s Northwest Territories and Yukon. In 2018, he and business partner Courtney Terriah, have realized their dream of operating an outdoor guiding business, Ten Stone Expeditions.
Cedar is excited and thankful for the opportunity to spend this upcoming summer working on Sahtu Dene, Métis and Inuvialuit traditional territory. He now calls Whitehorse, Yukon Territory home.
