Testimonials

In the early years of Canoe North Adventures, we did not expect that we would have so much repeat business. One in three of our paddlers return for more than one trip and one in four paddlers return for more than two trips. We have regular clients who have taken three or more trips than this adding regular river experiences and paddling skills to their lives. We know that these people trust our logistical planning and our delivery of a safe and secure paddling environment. We also know that these people come back because of our ability to offer a high level of comradery, a huge amount of fun and a deep level of fulfillment. We have always said that life on the river is more like we believe life should be than life is itself. Allowing the clarity of experience and the simpleness of the day-to-day existence on the river to be accessible becomes one of our most important priorities. This may sound like an easy thing but there are crucial components that lead to this based on trust, social connection and not to be underrated … a huge amount of fun.

Paddling the Snake River was unbelievably the best time I could veer have imagined. From the majestic mountains that came down to meet the waters edge to the ever changing river that lay before you. Sitting around the campfire at night with your fellow paddlers was very relaxing. It’s amazing how all of us from different walks of life blend as one at the end of the day. The wilderness, the Snake and wilderness guides, Lin and Al, Have that effect on you.

A memory for life is our evening camped above Cache Creek Canyon. Leaning against a log, I gazed up at distant mountains feeling a powerful sense of deep satisfaction and deep inner peace. My gaze drifted to the six canoes, three red and three green, sitting together, still and quiet, as if they too shared the satisfaction and peace … I smiled and reflected … it just couldn’t get any better than this.

I watched the river grow wider below the spectacular mountain peaks. The vastness was overwhelming, humbling. There were serene moments, like paddling under the midnight sun, You get focused on living with nature. You get in touch with the land and the rhythm of the river – problems seem to fall away. It was one challenge after another but we never lost confidence. It was tough but I never felt at risk. The Snake River expedition was a total and absolute adventure. It’s one of the most positive experiences I have had. There is something magical and mysterious about paddling a river in the far north.
~ Jim Garrow

Lin, I loved your encouragement and positive feedback. You are indeed a role model, an inspiration, and a fun and caring woman. Thank you so much for allowing me to achieve this dream of canoeing the Yukon. Best wishes for happy times in the North.

Thank you for the tremendous opportunity to be introduced to a wonderful place in the world and the life experience I enjoyed. Thank you for giving us an experience that will always be dear and will never wane but only grow.
~ Bill Stewart

You are both remarkable individuals with so much to give. When you said your job was to turn dreams into reality – mission accomplished. Thank you for the encouragement and that final push to make it happen. It was truly an adventure and a learning experience, I will cherish for the rest of my life.
~ Julie Pomeroy

On this snowy day, I wonder what it is like on the Keele River now. My winter camping days are behind me but your Keele River expedition proved to me that not all my great adventures are behind me. I can still do it. Thanks for the experience.
~ Jennifer Cox

Many thanks for inviting me on your famous wilderness canoe trip this past summer. I found it a challenge but I loved it truly. You both showed kindness and were thoughtful and considerate. You are a couple in a million. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
~ Doreen Salmon

Al, with great appreciation for all the passion, knowledge, humour and commitment to the Grove and the Irving Expedition that you have demonstrated in so many ways throughout our voyage on the Keele. You have instilled your love of the north in me!

Canoe North Adventures has been a customer of Canadian North for several years as part of our Tour Operator program. They have proven to be professional to work with and supportive of our northern owned and operated airline. On a personal note, they are very kind to deal with and I am confident to speak on behalf of our company when I say, we are pleased to work with them.
~ Cindy Ross

Over the last number of years, I have gotten to know Al Pace and Lin Ward through the Norman Wells Historical Museum. We look forward to their return each year. I value their business and their clients appreciate our museum programs and support our gift shop. Recently I attended “Legacy Wild” held at the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Ontario where Al and Lin promoted the wilderness regions of the Sahtu through a wonderful exhibition of Al’s pottery and Lin’s wilderness photographs. I would like to see more of our rivers advertised for tourism and I believe that they are the people to do it.
~ Peggy Pouw

This letter is in regards to Canoe North Adventures and the business I have had with them over the years as manager at Mary’s Store in Norman Wells. They shop at our store every summer faxing or emailing their substantial orders ahead of time and we get them ready for their arrival. They have a very high respect for this town as I have seen over the years. Everyone I speak to has high regards for them. They are a nice couple to deal with and easy going if the groceries are late arriving as we try to get the freshest produce for them.
~ Kym Matheson

Canoe North Adventures has consistently brought canoe adventurers to Norman Wells. During this time, Canoe North Adventures has been a customer of good standing with North-Wright Airways. They bring with them a professional, friendly staff and are a pleasure to work with. Lin and Al have become a recognizable face to many people in our community. They always have respect for everyone they meet and our community. During the summer, the staff of Canoe North Adventures is part of the North-Wright family. We work closely and have become good business and personal friends with Al and Lin.
