Exploratory Trips
This summer, we are planning two other exploratory trips, one on the Redstone and one researching the Great Bear River. The Redstone River runs through the southern reaches of the Sahtu in a strikingly beautiful part of the territory. This river starts at Drum Lake running through the Mackenzie Mountains down to the Mackenzie River. The finish will be at Tulita, the same finish as the Keele River. The plans for the Great Bear River would be to incorporate a paddling trip with a First Nation heritage trip. The trip would start at Deline on great Bear Lake where the group would stay for two days in this First Nations community before paddling down the Great Bear River to where it meets the Mackenzie River at Tulita where the group would spend two days in this First Nation community. We will keep you posted on plans for 2010 that may include either one of these new adventures. If you wish to be on our data base, please contact us.
